Seribu Islands Southern Cluster will Use Gas-Fired Electricity

PT. Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) wants to invest in Southern Cluster of Seribu Islands

PT. Jakarta Utilitas Propertindo Director, Chairul Hakim said southern cluster of resort islands in Seribu Islands will use gas-fired electricity.

"PT. Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) wants to invest in Southern Cluster of Seribu Islands," he stated, Wednesday (5/30).

He explained, electricity converted from gas is more efficient, simple and cheaper than generator set.

Current generator set price is Rp 4,500 per KWH while gas-fired electricity price is below Rp 4,500 per KWH. His side still calculating for the exact price until now.

"Since it is business to business, then we will sell gas-fired electricity supply to resort islands," he mentioned.

He added, currently his side is still finding business partners to build renewable energy in Northern Cluster.

"It is done because we consider renewable energy is more suitable to be used in Northern Cluster based on its geographical location," he assessed.
